Father’s Day

Father’s Day is coming this Sunday. It is a Hallmark holiday as my son would call it, a fabricated celebration if you will. However I will celebrate it with enthusiasm and food. It has been the tradition in my family for many years now that Mother’s Day was at Mom’s house and Father’s Day at mine.  I always do my famous Italian steak (well it’s famous in my circles) and build around that. I grill most everything, rain or shine (30-50% chance this Sunday).

Why even mention this? I am a father. I still have my father with me. Many do not in this world. Many do not in this country. Some don’t even know their father. That is a sad commentary. So if you have your fathers celebrate that. If you are a father and you have stood by your family and you’re there to raise your children, celebrate that. Pray for and whenever possible be a father to some child who needs one.
